The Callaway County Health Department has no new positive COVID-19 cases to report at this time. There are currently 22 cases, with 16 recovered, five active and one death.
Today begins the first phase of the partial opening of businesses throughout the State of Missouri. Each County will have restrictions on businesses and some county’s guidelines will be more restrictive than those from DHSS and Governor Parsons. Callaway County follows Governor Parson’s guidelines. As we move into this first phase, we need to realize that COVID-19 is still among us. There will most likely be additional positive cases that are found due to increased contact between people, elective surgeries restarting requiring testing, additional testing sites and other factors.
The citizens of Callaway County have done an amazing job of keeping this virus under control. The two additional cases that were reported on Friday were an eye opener after several days of having no positive cases to report. This is evidence that we should not let our guard down. Continue the social distancing, hand washing, Staying home if you are sick and all the other recommendations that have kept us safe thus far.
If you have a business and have questions on reopening and distancing, please call the Callaway County Health Department. We will come to your site or answer any questions we can over the phone.
PLEASE STAY SAFE
