May 5, 2020 Callaway County COVID-19 Update

The Callaway County Health Department has no new positive COVID-19 cases to report at this time. There are currently 22 cases, with 17 recovered, four active and one death.
Today is day two of the first phase of the partial opening of businesses throughout the State of Missouri. Many have begun to partially open and serve customers. These businesses have restrictions on how many customers can be in their establishment at one time. Please be courteous to these vendors as many have not been operating for several weeks. They are working through very tough conditions to bring services back to the citizens of our county. Please social distance when shopping.
The Callaway County Health Department highly recommends the use of masks. As we have more and individuals moving around, it is likely that COVID-19 can be spread very easily, so be vigilant. The Callaway County Health Department will be producing a video that shows how to properly wear masks and how to use disposable gloves. This seems like a simple process but so many citizens are improperly using masks and gloves. We believe the video will help citizens understand how to safely use these devices.
If you have are a business owner and have questions on reopening and social distancing, please call the Callaway County Health Department. We will come to your site or answer any questions we can over the phone.
PLEASE STAY SAFE!
