May 6, 2020 Callaway County COVID-19 Update

The Callaway County Health Department has no new positive COVID-19 cases to report at this time. There are currently 22 cases, with 17 recovered, four active and one death.
If you are wearing a mask, please cover both your nose and mouth. If worn incorrectly, a mask will not provide any protection for those you are in contact with. Masks are not to protect you, they protect others from you. Only approved and fit-tested N-95 masks offer protection to you from others. Thank you for thinking of others as you go out into public and wearing a mask.
Disposable glove use is also a big issue. If you are wearing gloves, they need to be changed after each use. For instance, if you put fuel into your vehicle and wear gloves, discard them when you are finished. Do not wear them into the store, open a door and then take out money to hand to a teller. By doing those things, you have contaminated everything past the gas pump. Wash your hands after you remove your gloves each time.
If you have a business and have questions on reopening and distancing, please call the Callaway County Health Department. We will come to your site or answer any questions we can over the phone.
