The Callaway County Health Department has no new positive COVID-19 cases to report at this time. There are currently 22 cases, with 20 recovered, one active and one death.
As numbers of positive COVID-19 cases rise in our neighboring counties, concern is being expressed by many of our citizens. These increased numbers are too close for comfort. As we have stated many times in the recent past, this virus is still here. It is easily spread. It doesn’t care about your age, ethnicity, social status or religious beliefs. It will attack at any time. By using social distancing, washing your hands properly and often, not touching your face and staying home if you are sick, you lessen the chance of coming in contact with COVID-19. Callaway County residents have done a fantastic job abiding by these simple steps. We have not had a positive case of COVID-19 since May 1. That is amazing.
But all it takes is one incident of coming into contact with a person or persons who may be un-knowingly carrying the virus and suddenly we could have another outbreak. Please continue to practice the recommended measures to keep this from happening. You are doing a great job Callaway County. THANK YOU!!!!!!
If you have a business or church and have questions on reopening and distancing, please call the Callaway County Health Department. We will come to your site or answer any questions we can over the phone.
PLEASE STAY SAFE
