May 21, 2020 Callaway County COVID-19 Update

The Callaway County Health Department has no new positive COVID-19 cases to report at this time. There are currently 22 cases, with 20 recovered, one active and one death.
Testing for COVID-19 across the State of Missouri will be greatly increased over the upcoming days and weeks. This will provide an improved way to combat this virus. This is great news for all Missourians. When the first outbreaks occurred in Callaway County, there was limited testing available. This slowed the process of isolation and quarantine. Today, medical professionals can take action more quickly and provide confirmation of positive cases to local public health agencies in much faster. This will protect communities.
As long as this virus is among us, there is the possibility for an outbreak. Remember this as we head into Memorial Day weekend. Please continue to keep a safe distance from others and use common sense. If you are sick, do not go around other people. If someone looks sick, stay away from them. Callaway has flattened the curve. Let’s keep it that way. Good job citizens.
If you have a business or church and have questions on reopening and distancing, please call the Callaway County Health Department. We will come to your site or answer any questions we can over the phone.
