The Callaway County Health Department has no new positive COVID-19 cases to report on Tuesday. There are currently 31 cases, 23 recovered, seven active and one death.
During the past weekend, the Callaway County Health Department received notification of two additional positive COVID-19 cases. Fortunately, we were able to move three cases from the active list to the recovered list on Monday. Our nursing staff has done a great job making contacts with those individuals who may have been in contact with the positive cases. This is a very time consuming effort and one that can be very challenging. Thanks for the job you do to protect our community.
As the local gatherings continue with individuals being in close proximity of one another, the chance for many more positive cases rises significantly. We all have the right to peaceably assemble and let our voices be heard. If this is an activity that you have attended or will in the future, please protect yourself by distancing as much as possible. These are very trying times. Just remember to take care of yourselves and others.
