Current Active COVID-19 cases in Callaway County: 156

Since the pandemic began earlier this year, Callaway County has had a total of 492 positive cases, with 333 of those individuals making a full recovery and 3 deaths.

There is a lot of confusion between these two terms which we now hear quite often. In simple terms, to Quarantine means that you should try not to have contact with other people, except if you need to see a doctor. If you live with other people you may want to use a separate bedroom and bathroom if possible. If you can’t avoid being around other people, you should wear a mask. Quarantine restricts movement and contact of healthy people who have been exposed. Quarantine duration is 14 days since the last contact with the person who is infected.

Isolation keeps sick people separate from healthy people for the duration of infectiousness.

So, if you have come into contact with someone who has been confirmed as having COVID-19, but you have no symptoms and have not been diagnosed you would be asked to quarantine. If you have tested positive for COVID-19 and are still considered contagious you would isolate yourself away from others who are not sick.
